image analysis
In the middle, there is a slightly leaning sign, which is backwards, behind it there is a lonely house surrounded by some dark bushes and trees. In the left of the image, there is an abandoned caravan in an empty car park, which has overgrown grass. The car park leads to a road on the right that vanishes into the distance, between the car park and the road is where the shadow of the sign is. A light fluffy cloud is aligned with the top of the sign.
The sign that sits by itself in the middle image is sharp and in focus but everything else is slightly out of focus. The alignment between the cloud and the sign is surprising and how the sign is preserved in the shadow is interesting. |
I would ask the artist 4 questions; where did you takes the photo? How did you come across this photo advantage? Did you purposely get the sign aligned with the cloud? And what do you think this photo says?
The town looks quite quiet so I think it would be a nice place to live but it might get a bit boring and lonely.
The artist might have taken the photograph to show the different things all going on at once also they might thought it was an interesting place and shows how a person might have lived like
I think that the sign, the house, the trees and the trailer is effective however, I think the elements don’t work so well make the image whole and that if the things that didn’t work so well weren’t in the picture it would tell a different story and would give a different perspective.
